Here we go again.

Discuss, argue, and the like here:

This thread is also useful for helping people with their fish ID's.

I caught two more species this weekend, one I've never caught before: Orange Spotted Sunfish! If I can find my !@#$%^&* camera I'll post the pics in the contest area!

For Pondbass; both of your bullheads look like black bullheads to me. The yellow bullhead has white lower whiskers; the black has black lower whiskers. See http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/species/bigfish/ and http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/species/ybh/

Here is a link to the Texas Parks and Wildlife fish page: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/landwater/water/aquaticspecies/inland.phtml

Bret,
One of the fish I caught might be a brown bullhead, which you don't have listed, and the orange-spotted sunfish I entered might actually be a red-spotted sunfish, but it isn't listed either.
Can you add them to your list?

I think that pondbass's spotted bass is a LMB. I may be wrong but I don't see any stripes on the bottom half of the fish.

Wow; just saw Sunfish's green sunfish entry; that's a big one!

Way to jump ahead today, too!

What's up with the tiny pictures? I would like more detail for ID purposes.

I tried clicking on the image for a larger version but no luck.

No kidding.

Pondbass, sunfish, anyone else....

you gotta pit some bigger pics on there. If there is a question about any of your fish, and the pics are that small, they will not be counted (see rules).

I'll look at a couple of your fish that are in question already, but if I can't see the pic........

if you have any larger pics of these fish, re-submit them so we can all see them.

AAAARGH!!! Just broke my best sunfish rod on a LMB. To top it off, he broke my 4lb line and took my best sunfish lure. What the heck is a 18" LMB doing in a creek that is only 10 inches deep?

Was it that Panther Martin in the photos you have posted?

Best. Sunfish. Lure. Ever.

Yep, that one is gone now. Pretty sad, that lure caught a ridiculous amount of sunfish. Simple spinner that kicked butt.

OK, I give up. My hybrid does not show up under the "total species" list. The number went up by 1 and it shows up under my name on the leader board, but when I click on total species logged, it is not there. What did I do wrong?

OK, I figured it out finally. If you leave out the length and weight it does not show up in some places. I thought I had entered that but apparently not.

We're going to Wimberley tonight for the weekend, so I should have the opportunity to add to my species list: Rio Grande Perch, spotted and/or guadalupe bass, redear, suckers, etc.
Good weekend, all!

Portabote will be on Lake Lewisville tomorrow at sunup. Looks like a perfect beautiful fishing day. I'll probably get sunburned.

Fished Cypress Creek in Wimberley as well as the Guadaloupe River below Canyon Dam.
Nothing from the Guad (looking for a couple of trout). 9 Bluegill and 3 Redbreasts from Cypress Creek (looking for Rio Grande Perch and/or other sunfish).

So, caught 12 fish but can't use them for the contest!

my pics are all big, Marty's are all itsy bitsy the way I see e'm. otherwise, is there any way I can submit pics with more file space? my new 12MP camera takes pictures with 2.5 bytes each and this site the highest is 2. I just hate carrying around 2 cameras

also, I want to give some flies for the winner courtesy of PondBass fishing and flies~ www.pondbass.webs.com
i'll give 10 flies of the winners choice

Check your camera settings. Mine can be adjusted to take smaller pics.
