Nice clousers! I need to get a pic of my clouser box up.

Toay I got the most willing smallmouth buffalo I've ever had take a fly! I had a sz 4 olive/black clouser tied on so I pitched the fly over to it and it raised up it's head, lazily swam over to my fly and ducked it's head down and inhaled it! I guess the idea that you can only catch buffs on the fly when they're feeding is true.

Most of the water around Houston isn't clear enough for sight fishing...

Treat the earth well. We don\'t inherit it from our parents; we borrow it from our children.

Well, I have a start; an inauspicious one at that, but a start. It's been raining a lot this week and the local waters are high and muddy, so I felt fortunate to get a couple of largemouth. Oh, I missed a spotted gar! Grrr!

Pondbass, it appears that you are using the same picture for your first and fifth (or sixth?) largemouth bass. I'm not doubting you caught another, but I believe you selected the wrong picture of it.

BTW, good catches! You are clearly out on the water a lot more than I can manage!

Thanks, I'll fix it. I entered that string at 12 at night that night so I was almost falling asleep while posting those! That's the 3rd one that I duplicate entered!

Well, I'm back from Austin. as the leaderboard has changed I haven't had internet access. I'll just say I'm still in the lead by al least 150 points

Curious about the pumpkin seed on Austins fish. I've never caught one, what makes it different from the greensunfish.

Completely different species of sunfish. Looks like a super colorful longear. I have been catching e'm around here lately

I'm pretty sure that is a longear sunfish.

I didn't even realize pumpkinseed was in our list. It should not be.

We don't have them in Texas (other than a few aquarium releases).

I'll remove it after this one is switched to a longear.

Ok Bret. I just thought the coloration was kind of different. I have caught e'm in missouri before and other than that 4 probable specimens in my secret spot and 1 at freeport

Done

Why are my pictures duplicating and wierd stuff on my fishlog? it's annoying. It only happens like once in 7 or 8 times of fishlog use

GRRR!
Note to self; make sure the pictures are SAVED on the camera!!!

I left 42 points in the water today; two Rios and a largemouth, that I didn't properly get the pictures for!

I was also trying for a couple of spotted gar, but couldn't get them hooked.

Next: carp and/or buffalo!

I got a Bluegill greenie hybrid tody. Since hybrid stripers are listed, can this count as a species? here's a pic

What's the matter Austin, not spanking us bad enough yet???
I'm having to work hard for my fish; when I've had the time to fish the water has been mostly high and silty; not especially conducive to fly fishing!
Oh well; I'm enjoying being back in the sport even though I do feel like I'm flogging the water!

Re:Clousers 1 Year, 4 Months ago
I was able to add a few more fish to my board over the weekend; I spent a lot of time yesterday presenting clousers to carp and spotted gar, but couldn't get any takes.
I've yet to catch either on a fly!
One thing is, I'm enjoying fly fishing again! I even bought new fly lines to replace the 20+ year old line that was on there.

Re:Clousers 1 Year, 4 Months ago
I'm getting lazy on putting up fish in my fishlog. Anyone willing to work on it for hire?

JK I have been fishing all weekend. I fish for smallies on Texoma and end up with a load of bluegill and a few super skinny stripers. I also saw a BUNCH of HUGE grassers along the denison dam (lake side). another species on my list!

Oh and I have been on Grapevine in my 'yak for the past 2 days. It seems like I CAN'T get a sandbass on the fly! I hook and fight e'm just to lose them at the boat, then catch a bunch on conventional tackle! I have gotten a 3lb channel cat and a 1lb bass from G vine in the past 2 days on clousers.

Is *anyone* going to challenge PondBass?

He's running away with it, and we're closing in on the emd of the month!
